Today is Sawyer's 4 month birthday. We have yet to take his 4 month old picture, but we did feed him some rice cereal... and he LOVED it. It took a long time for him to figure out how to swallow it, and we all three needed a bath afterwards, but he was very happy with himself. :) My life is about to get easier! No more pumping every 3 hours like I've done the last 4 months, every day... an estimated 480 times. :) :) :)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas... :)
We are SO excited for our first Christmas as parents. Watching Sawyer's interest in everything around him, even when he doesn't really understand what's happening yet, is so very exciting. We have decided to always have a real Christmas tree, at least, until we're old and crotchety. Our plan was to cut our own down this year, but on the day we planned to go get our tree, it was raining and cold out. Since Sawyer won't really have that memory, we'll go ahead and try again next year. This year, we went to Lowe's :)
My new obsession (Pinterest) showed a few different Christmas decorating crafts that I decided to try this year. The first was one I stole from my sister- tying ribbons onto the lights. Sawyer LOVED looking at all the twinkle lights. He loves lights in general, so this works out perfectly. :)
I also decorated my front door with a wreath made out of a wire hanger and ornaments and little Christmas trees made out of tomato cages. They turned out really well!

Notice the change of attire... we do this quite frequently at our house :)
We had to go buy one of our "special" ornaments for Sawyer, but they didn't have any with his name, so we improvised!

Sawyer and his "show"
During our long 4 day weekend, I was trying to find something to do with Sawyer that he would enjoy. There's only so many times a mommy can play on the playmat, bounce in the exersaucer, and make funny faces without feeling redundant. A friend has passed down her Baby Einstein videos, so Sawyer and I sat and watched both of them. He was mildly interested in both, but on one, it showed an electric train. Sawyer was mesmerized and squealing in delight... Grandpa Brinegar has his electric trains from when he was little, and he's going to get them out for Bubby to watch (mind you, I've been asking him to do that every Christmas since I was in middle school... now he's finally getting around to it). Since we don't have a tv (just a small one in our bedroom), we used our laptop. He looks very studious! :)
Sawyer's Winter Hat
Thanksgiving :)
On Thanksgiving, we traveled to Champaign to have Thanksgiving with the Brinegar family. When we tried to put on Sawyer's special Thanksgiving onesie, he barely fit. We had to stretch the outfit to be able to button it. It's a 6 month size. Our baby is such a big boy!

Halloween and Randomness
On Halloween, I had a dentist's appointment, so Daniel got Sawyer ready in his costume. After a little bit of handing out candy to the kids in town (and EVERY single one of them said thank-you, even a little boy who was deaf signed thank-you to us... big difference from last year), we went trick-or-treating at Great Grandma's house and my Dad's house (my mom was out of town on a business meeting).
Gigi gave Sawyer 2 pacifiers, and Grandpa let him taste a sucker, which he very much did not enjoy.
Since then, we've been super busy. Daniel and I are taking a financial class on Monday nights to better learn how to handle our finances, we lead the youth group at our church, I tutor, he plays in the worship band, etc. We're trying to cut back on activities so that we can spend more time together as a family...

Bubby has begun to be on the move... he scoots places now. Above is when he scooted out of the Boppy when we weren't looking...

Sawyer moves his feet when he eats, kind of in a peddling motion. It's so cute.
