Donkey Basketball

As a high school teacher, I make lesson plans, hand out detentions, listen to the problems of teenagers (which are sometimes very legitimate problems), teach Literature, Writing, and Grammar, sponsor the Class of 2014 and Drama Club, and play basketball while riding a donkey. Yes. In order to raise money for the Class of 2013, so that MY sponsored kids will have a great Senior Prom, I agreed to play on a team...
There were four teams- 2 student teams, 1 community team, and my team- the staff team (We called ourselves Staff Infection... ;)) There were 2 games initially, and then the winners of those two games would play each other in a championship game. In between the playoff games and the championship, every kid 12 and under got a free donkey ride.

My first donkey was Snuffy- and I absolutely fell in love with him. I had talked to the trainer beforehand, because I was only going to do it if I was positive the donkeys were being treated right and that they didn't hate this game. He convinced me. He's been with the company 4 years, and he's traveled 8 months of each year with the exact same donkeys. They're like his family. My second donkey, Wild Thing, was 29 years old and had been doing it all of his life. He was definitely in charge out there- you couldn't make him do ANYTHING he didn't feel like doing. He was awesome.

The staff won the playoff game AND the championship. We rocked. :)

6 months old!

Meet Sawyer's friend "Bird". Bird goes everywhere with us now...

Pinterest Project of the week: Roman Shades made from mini-blinds for our bay window. Love them!

He looks so old in this picture!

While we painted our kitchen cabinets, Bubby played in his jump-jump. Apparently we took too long...

It's impossible to pose him anymore... he just moves around like crazy.

"Hey, Mom. Let me play with that camera!"

SORRY! I have tried every day since Thursday, my *supposed-to-be* blogging day, and they just won't upload. Between my computer at school and the home computer, and Daniel's help, and my attempts, it's just not working. If Daniel has time later, he may be able to fix it.

I will get them up!

Also, I am in LOVE with pinterest, and I've committed to doing 1 pinterest project per week and blogging about them. This weekend I made No Sew Roman Shades for our living room, and they are AWESOME. I will upload pictures of those as well... :)

My goal is to now update every Thursday... we'll see how I do! I also try to write Sawyer a letter on his month birthdays, and his 5 month one isn't written yet, so that may be telling. Between school, remodeling a house, being a mommy, being a youth leader, being the Class of 2014 sponsor (responsible for concessions at basketball games right now), being the Drama Club sponsor, AND trying to have somewhat of a family life and a social life and a marriage... writing is my next to last priority (right before sleeping).

Here are the latest pics...
I planned 12 dates (1 per month) for Daniel. This is us starting our January date!

Buffalo Wild Wings and Bowling... which turned into BWW and coming home because it was sleeting, and we wanted our babysitter home safely!

Sawyer looks like SUCH  big boy here... jeans and tennis shoes.

Maggie thinks the boppy is for her...

Sawyer is on Daddy's team for game night with the youth...

Helping Bethany now...

New TV and Baby Einsteins on the big screen!

He fell asleep sitting up while he was waiting for us to get ready...

Bath time!

We'll see if I can remember to update again next Thursday!
