Spring breaking...

This week has been my Spring Break. I am LOVING staying home with Sawyer every day. It makes me so excited for summer- 8 more weeks of school!!! :)

My big 7 month old can finally sit up without toppling over!

... but he cannot keep his hands off the 7 month sign :)

We all have canvas slip-on shoes... cute!

Look at those blue eyes!

Now that you've seen just how cute and big my baby is, I need to tell you that he not only is cute and big and old, but MISCHIEVOUS! I went into the other room to get something for Daddy, and I was gone about 5 minutes. When I got back, Sawyer had rolled himself over to my bowl of salsa and bag of chips, dumped it over, rolled around in it, and broken a lot of chips... We will not be leaving him alone any longer!

We've been doing a lot of landscaping/ripping out old landscaping. Sawyer enjoys helping :)

I also hung my drop-cloth curtains. They still need to be starched and ironed, but I decided to save that for another day!

This is what we look like after a meal...

Today we stayed in our jammies all day. Partly because I need at least one lazy day of Spring Break, and partly because he looks SO CUTE in his cowboy jammies. I couldn't bear to change him...
Sawyer kind of refuses to do anything alone, or even without an audience. He really REALLY wants someone to be watching him all of the time with his or her complete attention solely devoted to him. I think this comes from being at Debbie's with so many kids watching and playing with him. He doesn't want us merely in the same vicinity, but WATCHING and encouraging him. So, while he's still trickable, I put the mirror in front of his jump-jump so that I could do a few things. The little boy in the mirror is watching how high he can jump :)
Next week, it's back to school for me, and probably back to the usual 1 post a month. Ha!

Sweet Treat Obsession...

On Friday, Daniel was sick, so Sawyer and I were on our own getting groceries. We plan meals for an entire month, and we get that entire month's worth of groceries in one trip, so this was no small task. While we were shopping, Sawyer was obsessed with holding the bag of brown sugar. He continued to hold it on the way home, and when we got home, I discovered he'd used his four little teeth to bite holes in the bag... and suck out sugar...

Today, Daniel was eating an ice cream cone, and Sawyer was NOT going to let him eat it all alone. He practically taught himself to crawl in order to get to it.

This boy LOVES his sweet treats! Thankfully, he also LOVES pears, applesauce, peas, sweet potatoes, corn, and everything we feed him!

I've been slightly behind on uploading my pinterest projects, but here are a couple organizing solutions we implemented into the bathroom:
This has worked BEAUTIFULLY! It's a paper clip holder turned bobby pin holder. It keeps those pesky things from disappearing and readily available.

Daniel screwed a magazine holder into the door of our bathroom cabinet. It now holds my hair dryer and straightener and keeps them from taking up room on our sink.

Busy 2 Weeks!

My little man has two new teeth (and more on the way)! He refuses to show them, or even smile for most pictures, so despite much protesting Daniel and I had to hold him down to take a picture for you.

Aren't they sooo cute? They hurt really badly if he chomps you- VERY sharp!

The past two weeks have been consumed with FCA. The first weekend of March, our little family traveled to Kansas City for FCA RealTime. Once every three years FCA gets all of its staff from the entire country together for a time of relaxation and fun. Almost 900 staff members were there, along with any spouses and babies under walking age. Illinois staff alone brought 5 babies under the age of 6 mos., so Sawyer had many little friends to play with! It was a great time :)

Road trip!!! 7 hour drive :)

Sawyer LOVED watching himself in the mirror every morning as we got ready.

Due to a diaper explosion, he ended up in a Kansas City Chiefs outfit- Uncle Aaron would be SO PROUD!

Anytime we go anywhere, we just let him sleep with us. He's overtaken our bed!

How could you not LOVE waking up to those two beautiful faces every morning?

One afternoon Bubby was sitting in his Bumbo while Daniel played basketball and I rested. I heard a noise, and this is what I turned around to- a blanket-head moving around and laughing :) After the first evening of carrying Sawyer and all of his necessary luggage around to the dinner and program, we decided to go buy a stroller. Because the one that fits with our infant carrier has to be ordered online, we went with the $20 Cosco stroller. I promise you, that was the BEST purchase we've made so far. He loves it. We've practically worn it out in 2 weeks!

The second weekend of March was filled with preparations for the FCA Fundraising banquet, which was March 12. Sawyer got to play in the remains of a package that had a gift for one of the donors...
This weekend will finish out our busy weekend streak. Even though I was never involved in drama in high school, I am the co-sponsor of Drama Club. I did this to a) let some of my kids who are not caught up in athletics have an outlet and some fun and to b) make some extra money to start replacing our kitchen appliances. This weekend is our first show- complete with 2 dress rehearsals, setup, 2 productions, tear-down, AND an after-party at our house. The following week is a half-week for the kids and parent-teacher conferences, and then NEXT weekend we start Spring Break!!! We plan to begin landscaping the front of our house... YAY! Pictures to come!
