First Week Back to School

Tomorrow begins my second week teaching and Sawyer's second week at Tiffany's. I'm sure you're all wondering how the first week went. :)

Sunday night was met with a lot of tears (mine). I realized how little time I'd actually spent apart from him since sometime mid-November of last year. Since the day we found out we were pregnant, I'd spent all my time with him. Now it was going to change. Waking up and getting ready Monday morning went smoothly. When I finally left for school, I left this sweet picture:

I didn't have much time to compose myself during my 2 block drive. I held it together until the beginning of our teachers' meeting when everyone was telling me how glad they were I was back. Then I lost it for a few minutes.

However, school was amazing, and I truly love teaching. Sawyer is in good hands (pictures of his time at Tiffany's to come), and it gets easier every day!

Daniel took him to Tiffany's every day, and then I picked him up after school. Unfortunate timing- Homecoming Week was my first week back. So after I picked him up at 3:30, we headed to Float Building at 4. With my sophomore class we constructed a float for hours... and hours... and hours every night. Sawyer was very good and interested throughout the entire process, and whenever he got fussy, there were enough moms (lamenting the fact that their "babies" were now 15 and going to Homecoming) to hold him and love on him while we worked.

Finally, Friday was the parade, the football game, and the beginning of a three day WEEKEND!
Sawyer didn't feel the need to watch the float in the parade as he'd already seen it all week. :)

Here it comes!

Homecoming theme: Carnival... Our float was Whack-A-Buffalo (rather than Whack-a-Mole)... The mallet moved up and down, and so did the lightning bolt.

And we totally won for the second year in a row... :) :) :)
