Mommy-to-Bee

In 10th grade, I met these two girls on the softball team. I was the new girl at school. That first practice when the coach said "Pair up and throw for awhile!" (wouldn't you know it), there was an odd amount of girls. Thankfully, Erin and Emily invited me into their pair to play catch! Fast forward ten years, and Erin is 35 weeks pregnant with beautiful baby Emmalyn! I had the awesome honor of planning her Danville baby shower with her mom. Pinterest saved us! Much thanks to some of the crafty people posting for their ideas :)
High School Girls :)

We decided on a "Mommy-to-Bee" theme, with bees, yellow, gray, black, and touches of pink everywhere! We started off with a rather scientific question: What kind of bees make milk? I'll let you think on that while you peruse the pictures...

 In no particular order...

Charlene and I made this diaper cake with a LOT of painstaking little details. When we saw it advertised for $80, we thought the seller was crazy, but about halfway into it, we would've sold it for $100! Unfortunately, the picture didn't capture my super-cute beehive. I cut a styrofoam ball in half, and covered it with donut holes from Royal Donut (*yum!*) using toothpicks. Turned out great!

E-cubed 10 years later...

One of Erin's requested activities

She got a TON of gifts! Emmalyn is set for the first couple years!

Exactly 457 honeycomb cereal are in this jar... counted one by one by yours truly.

We made scrapbook paper confetti using a circle punch, and I printed this cute little sign to frame with Em's ultrasound!

Semi-strange baby game- freeze the babies in ice, and the first guest whose "water breaks" gets a prize. The winner was a girl about 11 years old, who was completely mortified to scream out that her water broke... mission accomplished ;)

I can't help it- I'm an English teacher! When I get up in front of that many people, my natural inclination is to give homework! At least the assignment rhymes :)

Love her! Recognize that dress Amy George? Your maternity clothes are tall enough for my tall friend to wear perfectly!

Beautiful flower arrangements on the tables :)

Cute little honey sticks for favors!
I can't wait to meet Baby Emmalyn!!!! I love her already- just as much as I love her mama!

Oh yeah, your answer to the bee question? Boo-bees. ;)
